Falmouth LIfeboat has taken to social media in search of more volunteers to help with two major fundraising events supporting the work of the RNLI in the town.

On Sunday the 28th of May the RNLI will be holding its annual Castle-to-Castle swim to raise money for the lifeboats, volunteer crew, and lifeguards on Gyllyngvase Beach.

The event is a one-mile open water swim between Pendennis Point and St Mawes Castle starting at 11.30 am. This year has seen a record entry of 500 people so far.

Entry for the swim is £25 with participants agreeing to raise an additional minimum of £50 for the RNLI.

Organisers for the event are still looking for volunteers to help as marshalls in both Falmouth and St Mawes, if you are able to help please e-mail [email protected] or phone 07901 517615

The team is also looking for volunteers for the Sea Shanty Festival next month, in return you will receive a free pasty and refreshment.
