Via Ferrata Cornwall CIC, an outdoor activity centre near Penryn offering award-winning adventures, is celebrating its third year since opening.

The community interest company was launched in the Summer of 2020 to provide outdoor adventures to the public, but they also offer much more than just an adrenaline rush.

Via Ferrata aims to give people the chance to build confidence, conquer fears, feel a sense of achievement, make amazing memories, and have fun.

All the profits made go towards its launching charity, BF Adventure, which supports Cornwall's vulnerable children and young people facing mental ill-health, trauma, poverty, physical disabilities, and more.

In turn, the profits generated enable some of Cornwall's most vulnerable young people get to take part in activities as part of trauma-informed youth work programmes on a stunning 60-acre site of flooded quarries, heathland, and woodland.

A parent of one of the young people has shared how it helped their child, they said: "My son was in a really bad place, had little to no trust in anyone, and would harm himself. Physical restraint on Tom was becoming a daily occurrence at school to keep him safe.

"His confidence was at a very scary all-time low. Since attending BF he's so happy, will work with others, and take the lead in groups outside of BF. The confidence and self-esteem BF has given him is outstanding. BF gave me my boy back."

Scale quarry cliff faces on the iron stairway, take on a 70m long high wire bridge, tackle high challenges up to 20m above water level, and launch from the cliff top onto the highest and longest zip wire on-site.
