UPDATE: Police release statement following theft of eight engines from Falmouth boating company

The police have released a statement following the theft of engines from a local boat company in Falmouth.

The theft from the Helford River Boats company is believed to have taken place between 3am and 8:30am on Wednesday 9th September.

A police spokesperson said:

"We are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information in connection with a report of thefts from boats in the area of Helford Passage, Falmouth.

"We believe a total of eight outboard engines were stolen from boats.

"If you have any information, offered an outboard engine for sale or CCTV in the area mentioned please phone 101 or email [email protected] quoting crime CR/075959/20."

Helford River Boats Ltd previously revealed details of the incident on social media.

A spokesperson for Helford River Boats said:

"Nothing was taken from engine store but most on the beach have been bolt cropped and fuel lines cut. If anyone has any info or is offered a dinghy sized outboard please let us or the police know."
