Istanbul Barber Falmouth opened its doors in January this year and has been providing high-quality traditional Turkish cuts in town.

Located on Market Strand they offer a great selection of services including hair washing and styling, skin fades, beard trimming, neck cleaning, hot towels, and even ear and eyebrow trims.

The business is run by Mustafa Aksu, his family has been running Turkish barber shops for 39 years. 

Mustafa moved to the UK from Istanbul around nine years ago and has worked in different locations across the country.

After settling in London for a while, Mustafa had heard from a friend that there was a lack of quality Turkish Barber shops in Cornwall. 

Once deciding to travel down south he looked at a few different Cornish towns, but it was Falmouth that caught his eye. 

The building that sits opposite the Prince of Wales Pier was a perfect fit. Mustafa said the size of the building was key and was glad he could offer customers a great open space.

In the eight months they have been open, Mustafa says they have enjoyed a great number of customers and get busy on weekends.

During my visit, I found the staff welcoming and thought the inside of the shop was amazing. It was extremely clean and had a lot of natural light coming through to complement the colours of the interior.

Bookings are not available but customers are free to walk straight in and get a trim. You can find their opening times below:

• ​Sunday: 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
