Residents have today been paying tribute to a well known homeless man, Sticky O'Rourke, following his unfortunate passing yesterday evening.

Sticky has been labelled an 'icon' by many as well as a consistently friendly, familiar face around the town.

Many residents are requesting that a bench in Memorium is placed somewhere in Falmouth town.

The Warmth for the Homeless community organisation, who knew Sticky closely, told Nub News:

"Sticky had time for everyone, his glowing smile and laughter will continue to fill our streets long after his passing.

"He was a man of great depth with art as one of his main talents. If we as a community can take a leaf out of his book please and all have more time for others that would be great.

"Sticky who's Dove has flown into the sky - you will be missed. R.I.P."

Penryn resident Rachel Gerred-Hart wrote:

"Rest In Peace Sticky O'Rourke. You are the very definition of a loveable rogue.

"Falmouth has lost an icon. Falmouth will not be the same. A colourful life you lived not understood by some but inside you had a heart that was gold.

"Sleep easy my friend. Love and blessings to your family."

Another resident said: "So, so sad - a character who'll definitely be missed."

R.I.P Sticky.
