Travellers leave site near Pendennis Castle after council's court order

A clean up began over the weekend after travellers were ordered to leave a site known as The Hornworks, near Pendennis Castle.

Last week, Cornwall Council sought a court order to remove the group after they refused to vacate the land.

The council was, in turn, granted a court order, which was served on the unauthorised encampment, giving the group 24 hours to vacate the site.

A group of volunteers then took to the site to remove waste left behind by the group.

As revealed to Nub News by Cornwall Council, plans are said to be already progressing to put boulders on the site to prevent this from happening in the future.
