A popular bar in Falmouth is proud to share that their monthly comedy night has had links with the national stand-up Tv show Live At The Apollo.
On 3rd October 2022, rising comic talent Ignacio Lopez performed a new full-length set of jokes at Toast in Falmouth, which he performed at Live At The Apollo and later aired on BBC2 on Friday 10th February this year. This last episode of the show's most recent series can be seen on BBC iPlayer.
Other comedians who have performed at Toast and climbed the comedy ranks to TV appearances include Bobby Mair, Harriet Dyer, and Mark Simmons, who supported Seann Walsh on tour and brought him along to watch.
Toast is now looking forward to hosting even more great up-and-coming comedians, on Monday the 1st of May 2023, from 8 pm, Ben Treloar and Tom Rodgers, who launched new stand-up comedy night First Draught at Verdant Brewery in mid-2022, will be performing.
The night will be hosted by Abhishek Morye and will see a whole host of performers trying out new material.
Rodgers and Treloar were finalists in Welsh comic David Arnold's Cornish Comedian of the Year competition in 2022. This year the competition semi-finals will be on tour in Newquay and Bodmin, with the final taking place during Falmouth's new comedy festival The Cringe at the Pavillion in July.

Many up-and-coming comedy events taking place in Cornwall are organised by stand-up comic Graham Wilkes, who started Comedy Jam at Toast 10 years ago when Kernow King regularly came along to watch.
Comedy Jam at Toast is on Monday 1st May from 8 pm and is free entry with an opportunity to donate at the end. The comedy nights take place on the first Monday of every month.
