A Falmouth cafe situated in Kimberley Park has recently reopened after closing its doors in response to the virus.
Kimberley Perk opened back up for business last week after lockdown restrictions were eased on residents being able to spend more time in parks and other public spaces.
The cafe is committed to using high-quality ingredients while remaining affordable to those who visit the park multiple times a week.
Alex, Owner of Kimberley Perk, spoke to Nub News about the reopening:
"It has been well received despite the new safeguarding measures we have taken.
"People's attitudes have changed, there is a lot less anxiety surrounding corona, and more relief that we can get outside again without fearing we are doing something wrong.
"It's just nice to have a bit of social interaction, and I think everyone is more chirpy because of it."
The cafe aim's to treat people more like friends than customers: "regardless if they're buying a coffee, or asking a question," Alex told us.
Alex took on the cafe back in 2017 and has been making constant changes from the community's feedback to make it the best it can be.
"I'm not in it to make a major profit. Being able to create my own food and drinks, interacting with the community, and doing all this within an ever-changing well looked after park keeps me eager to go to work," Alex said.
"What I like about Falmouth is the community, no doubt. It's almost impossible to walk through Falmouth and not bump into someone you know."
"The students bring a whole culture that was unheard of before the Uni was here, since then, I have heard people call Falmouth, 'Fali-fornia' after California in America.
"I don't think there is anywhere in the world quite like Falmouth."
