Falmouth rum and cocktail bar The Brig is hosting a raffle with all the proceeds going to the Falmouth Covid-19 fundraiser.

The Falmouth Covid-19 fundraiser is run by Robin Markland, which is providing emergency one-week veg and fruit boxes to the communities most vulnerable, the elderly, families in food poverty, others in isolation and other vulnerable people.

The raffle was announced on social media by The Brig, saying:

"We hope you are all managing to keep safe and well during this time. We miss you all terribly, but in a bid to perk us all up we have decided to hold a raffle, with proceeds going to a great cause!"

The prize is a £25 gift voucher which can be spent on food and drink at The Brig when they reopen. Entries are £1 each and you can enter as many times as you like.

When it was announced that restaurants and bars had to close, initially The Brig offered deliveries but that stopped to protect staff.

Ash Morgan, the owner of The Brig, told Nub News:

"We have been wanting to do something and get involved because we are such a small kitchen we couldn't open up the kitchen to make meals so we have been racking our brains of how we could help. I saw his fundraiser and came up with the idea.

"It was a combination of a lot of things really, something for people to feel excited about and all the proceeds are going to a great cause and it ticked a lot of boxes."

You can enter the raffle via PayPal at: PayPal.me/thebrigfalmouth

Entries close at 8pm today.
