The Santa Ride in support of Teenage Cancer Trust will be on the 10th of December as bikers travel through West Cornwall dressed as Santa Claus to visit young people with Cancer, Andy Jenrick volunteers for the trust and it will be the second year running he has organised the event.

The idea is to visit the children and families outside their homes to make their Christmas as special as possible, Andy explained that there may be a few places where the public can meet the riders and donate to Teenage Cancer Trust.

On the Facebook page for the event Andy shared this message "The more Santas, the bigger the smiles so let's give them a reason to smile! Last year we had 50 bikes, let's increase that!!" Anybody who wants to join the Santa ride will be asked to donate £5 or more to Teenage Cancer Trust.

The route with times and locations of the stops has not yet been announced but will be released as soon as they are confirmed, everyone will be welcome to come along and see them on their ride.

However, Andy confirmed that Santas will be visiting the Royal Cornwall Hospital where the riders are hoping to meet several young people who are receiving treatment for cancer. They will also be meeting the nursing staff funded by Teenage Cancer Trust.

After speaking to Andy I quickly learned the Santa ride wasn't the only volunteering work he had done, "after covid I wanted to do something as soon as I could, I did a 4,000 miles motorbike ride around the coast of England, Scotland, and Wales to raise money for the charity" Andy said. He also went on to tell me how he organised a music festival in St Agnes last weekend to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, there were some big acts including Will Keating and they managed to raise over £2000.

If you know a child receiving cancer treatment that may want to see the riders on the route this Christmas or a Biker that may be able to help then visit the events page where you will be able to message Andy directly, just click Here
