A main road in Swanpool has been closed this evening as waves batter the seafront.

Images were shared by Falmouth resident Amanda Jago, of fire crews blocking Swanpool Road as waves ran into the road.

Another resident commented:

"I was walking down there just now, you need to be there to see it, rough is an understatement."

Life's A Beach Cafe, Maenporth also reported water running into the beach car park tonight.

They added:

"The car park surface is not looking great due to the weather and we advise you to drive with caution due to the number of potholes."
