An individual found himself in a sticky situation in Penryn this afternoon (2nd) after getting stuck in the mud.

After getting stranded at Gorran Gorras Creek, he was spotted by a passing dog walker, close to around 1pm.

Also tasked were Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, Bristol Ambulance EMS, and Full Time Senior Coastal Operations Officers.

On scene, the casualty was located around 30 meters from the shore and stuck up to his knees and unable to free himself.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Coastguard added:

"Along with Fire and Rescue personnel, specialist coastguard mud rescue technicians were deployed and using a mud lance (a device that injects air and water around a stuck object) and some digging with shovels, the casualty was released and brought back to shore."

He was then passed over to an Ambulance crew for a check over.
