South West Water has responded following calls throughout the day of discoloured water coming out of taps in Mylor Bridge.

A resident of Parc Peneglos, posted on social media a picture of the "yellow" looking water.

A resident of Lemon Hill, Mylor Bridge also said their cold water had a "brown tinge" to it.

A spokesperson for South West Water told Nub News they have been getting calls all through the day since lunchtime regarding the water.

"It is usually caused by a pipe being disturbed by roadworks or potentially a burst. Although we suspect its probably a burst because there are no works going on, we are still trying to identify it," said a South West Water spokesperson.

South West Water suspects it could be a burst main somewhere, "this is affecting a large area of TR11," they added.

"If you do start getting that water, we advise you run it off on your cold kitchen tap and because that's where your rising main is connected to it means that your water won't get dragged through the rest of the taps. That usually takes anywhere between 10 minutes and an hour depending on how bad it is."

Contact them first, they will apply a credit to your account so you aren't paying for it.

South West Water also said that they don't expect too many Falmouth properties to have the problem as it has been mainly reported elsewhere.
