A busy atmosphere at the Sabzi launch party this week - a popular Truro deli opening a new store in Falmouth.

As reported last month, 2018 Masterchef quarterfinalist Kate Attlee is opening the new store on Arwenack Street, Monday 25th July. She said that Falmouth feels a "natural" next home for Sabzi.

People turned out in their numbers for the launch party on Thursday evening including family, friends, and regular Truro customers.

There was a chance to enjoy a drink alongside some tasters, the smell of Sabzis tahini cinammon buns filled the room.

The menu will be matching across both sites, all homemade, savoury, sweet, things cooked fresh in the morning, with a wide range of deli items for sale.

Addressing her guests, Kate said: "When I set up Sabzis three years ago I did it in a bid to marry my love of serving with cooking. I was and I still am committed to bringing a sustainable environmentally conscious approach to the food industry. I really want to prove that takeaway food can be creative and exciting as the food you can find anywhere else.

"I have always been hugely influenced by my upbringing and I have been lucky enough to be fed beautiful food at home. I first learned about Iranian cuisine in a bid to connect with my heritage. My heritage sits at the heart of Sabzi and I absolutely love bringing you a taste of the Middle East to Cornwall. The last three years have been an enormous privilege to cook for you all, get to know you all, and share my love of Sabzi with you all.

"To be in the position now where Sabzi is growing and to be able to share my love and my growing team's love for what we do with more of you feels so exciting. I am incredibly aware I wouldn't be doing this bit without you all."

With the opening of the deli, Sabzi has also hired new staff. Kate has brought in Darren Kerley (Hotel Meudon) as Head of Food to make a strong core team that will help her run both sites.
