Royal Navy Explosive Team in Penryn following discovery of device with 'intent to endanger life'

Police and the Royal Navy are currently attending an incident in Penryn after the discovery of a 'suspicious incendiary device'.

Falmouth Nub News has attended the scene, read our update here.

Found at the back door of the Masonic Lodge on New Street, Penryn at 11.10am this morning, a 20 metre cordon was put in place.

A police spokesperson told Nub News:

"A team from the Royal Navy Explosive Ordinance Control attended while door to door enquiries were carried out.

"Police are treating the discovery as arson with intent to endanger life."

A police spokesperson updated Nub News that the device is no longer dangerous but the incident remains ongoing.
