A Falmouth site that many of you will be familiar with but somewhere that has been unoccupied for years.

Situated next door to Hillbillys Bar and opposite Star Glazers Pottery and Painting is a building that has been left empty for some time - which got residents asking, what did it used to be?

The question was brought to light by Chris Judd on a popular Falmouth historical site "You Knew You Grew Up In Falmouth When..."

He posted:

"First walk for a couple of days. It would nice if this site opened as something new.

"We remember an accountants or solicitors, before that a fabric shop and our earliest memory is a chandlers. Have we got that right and what was it originally?"

Other residents were quick to join the discussion and share what they remember, one comment read:

"Was a cinema, locals remember it was the Kozee."

A second read:

"I remember it as Falmouth chandlers in the 1960s."

A third comment read:

"I bought it from West Country Chandlers in 1999 and my architectural practice moved in, selling the building in 2006 after we outgrew the space... it is now semi-derelict, and hasn't been occupied since I sold it."

What do you remember the building as? Do you have any old pictures of the site? You can send them to us via Facebook or email them to [email protected] OR [email protected]
