This Friday, the Jacobs Ladder Inn, Falmouth will host the first Compassion Action party in Cornwall.

The music event is donation-based and all the collected money will go towards helping rough sleepers through the winter.

Petra Lia Rakoczi, the creator of Compassion Action, told Nub News:

"Compassion Action is an experimental movement which unites different people, small groups and aiming to inspire the community to care about each other and the planet, on the creative and fun way.

"The project started three years ago from a squat community project, where we organised at Christmas, a whole day free workshops, community kitchen, where everybody was welcome to help the cooking or just eat, also a gift away project, where we gave 200 present away on the street and not just for homeless people, closed with a small friendly party at the evening.

"By that, we gave a free beautiful day for the North London Community, filled with presents, a whole day program with lush vegetarian dinner, without anybody needed to spend money.

"The next Compassion Action was in Hayes, London, where we set up a street free shop (take what you need, what you want, donate if you have) gave chocolate, free hugs, and went around Hayes homeless community giving out big wrapped presents."

Every penny will support the cause to raise donations for the homeless, by supporting people with sleeping bags and hot drinks during the cold winter.

Petra added:

"This winter we will focus again on homelessness, due to the freezing weather, there are thousands of people dying every year on the street.

"Therefore we are organising the Compassion Action party and hoping to show the community, the act of Compassion and caring can be creative and fun, can involve anything as long as it's fighting the creeping ignorance which causing alienation and fear towards each other.

"This event organised by 4 people: Megan, Ian Padfield and Robert from the Warmth Homeless Project.

"We got together two amazing bands, Danio who will bring his beautiful soul full roots reggae tunes, we will have Pat Bollard from the former famous Phat Bollard, who will sing some really revolutionary, feet stomping angry but funny music.

"We will have Reggi Sound from the old school London Rave culture playing Jungle and Drum N Bass."

The event starts at 21:00PM and finishes at 1:30AM.
