A power cut in Falmouth left hundreds of properties without power for much of this afternoon.

According to Western Power Distribution, a power cut on Thursday (6th) around 2pm is thought to have affected nearly 350 properties in the TR11 and TR10 areas.

Businesses were also affected with Sainsbury's reportedly having to temporarily close.

Power has since been restored to most residents and businesses. However, the lights aren't expected to come on again for around 40 properties until 10pm.

A spokesperson for Western Power told Nub News:

"Engineers continue to work on a high voltage fault in the area but a now estimating to restore all those still affected by 10pm. Our apologies for the delay and inconvenience."
