Sunday, 5th January, Plastic Free Falmouth is hosting their first beach clean of the year.

The event is a collaboration with other local groups including Falmouth Marine Conservation, One Bag Beach Clean and The Beach Clean Project.

The clean will start at Pendennis Castle and expand to Pendennis Point and surrounding areas.

Ella Simpson, Beach Clean Coordinator at Plastic Free Falmouth, told Nub News:

"These beach cleans are wonderful events as they bring the Falmouth beach-loving community together and are a really important tool for everyone to learn about plastic pollution and make the public aware of our impact on the environment.

"Everyone can get involved and we love to see a broad range of ages taking part and doing their bit for the planet.

"We run these cleans each month so keep an eye out for more events in the future."

The clean up begins at 10am and everyone is welcome to attend.
