Images from the scene have been shared following a plane crash in the village of St Martins this morning.

Two people were treated at the scene as both crew in the Hawk ejected - their injuries are not thought to be threatening or life-changing.

They were then airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said earlier this afternoon:

"Pilots checked by medics after ejecting from a Royal Navy Hawk aircraft from 736 Naval Air Squadron during a flight from RNAS Culdrose. An investigation will begin in due course."

Defence Minister John Mercer told the BBC the crash was thought to be from an engine failure.
