Falmouth Fire Station crew assist at scene of military aircraft crash

A crew from Falmouth Community Fire Station were tasked to assist in Helston this morning following a Culdrose Hawk crash.

In Mawgan, Helston, at around 9:45am a RNAS Culdrose Hawk crashed with two pilots ejecting from the aircraft.

Crews from St Keverne, Mullion, Helston, Tolvaddon, Newquay, Penzance, St Just and St Dennis were all mobilised to the incident.

Crews assisted in making the scene safe and it has been left in the hands of the Military for investigation.

The two men who were airlifted to hospital are not thought to have sustained serious or life-threatening injuries.
