A village pub has been granted permission to make improvements to its outdoor dining area.

As reported in January, The Trelowarren Arms, Budock Water, submitted an application aiming to create a more "relaxing year-round setting" with new timber decking and seating.

The plans involve the removal and replacement of the existing pergola - replacing it with a more appropriate structure supported on timber posts.

A timber decking area will be put in and new steps will be created to allow for better use of the dining space.

There will also be new banquette seating, and gravel laid down in line with fencing.

A new fence will also be added to act as a separation for the customers from the car park for added safety as well as a means of noise control.

The plans were supported by Budock Parish Council. This week, conditional approval was given by Cornwall Council.
