Police have confirmed to Nub News that the wanted man staying in a Penryn pub was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug – cocaine - with intent to supply.

The firearms officers conducted the operation on The Kings Arms following the discovery of a large quantity of suspected cocaine in a property in Plympton.

The operation on the Penryn pub led officers to a 23-year-old man from Plympton, who is believed to be linked with the discovery of suspected Class A drugs.

A police spokesperson told Nub News:

"Officers located a 23-year-old man from Plympton and arrested him on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug – cocaine - with intent to supply, and possessing a Class B drug – cannabis.

"He has been released on police bail until 19th August pending further enquiries."

A 37-year-old man from Plympton and a 20-year-old man from Stoke, Plymouth, were also arrested on the same charges.

They are released under investigation pending further enquiries.

The Kings Arms, who say they unknowingly took the wanted man in, has been heavily criticised on social media by residents who believe that they broke covid-19 rules for offering the man accommodation.

They have since responded to the community's criticism and stood by their decisions.
