Armed police have blocked off a road in Penryn this afternoon.

The incident is taking place outside the Kings Arms on Broad Street.

A witness told Nub News they saw armed police and drones, they added:

"Police have blocked off the road, I have seen four of them in full body armour carrying assault rifles."

A second witness told Nub News:

"There was a couple of officers but then they walked off down the hill."

The Kings Arms have posted on social media, saying:

"Yes, we have police hear at the pub... Owners are okay and will update you all when we know more!

"Not getting told a lot... but please be patient."

Penryn resident Fiona Campbell-Howes posted on social media:

"Latest from the neighbours (across the street) is that police are pointing guns at the King's Arms - the pub at the top of the street."

Fiona since posted that more police had arrived at the scene.

The police presence has now left the area.

We are working hard to get further information on the incident. Stay with Nub News for the latest.
