Recently Penryn and Falmouth Funeral Directors undertook a charity fundraiser, to raise money for a local organisation that makes a difference in people's mental health.

The Charity Classic Car Show, displayed an array of Classic Cars, with the team serving Cornish Cream Teas, and washing cars, in conjunction with their neighbours Kernow Kars.

Raffle tickets were also sold, with fantastic prizes donated from local businesses, with all monies raised donated to Sea Sanctuary.

Penryn and Falmouth Funeral Directors said:

"We wanted to be able to give something back to the community. As Robin Hattswell-Burt has an array of interesting and head-turning classic vehicles, we felt a classic car show was a great way to do this, raising both funds and awareness for a very worthy cause.

"Mental Health is something that affects many and we hope that raising money for Sea Sanctuary, would go a small way towards helping others."

Sea Sanctuary are a Cornish mental health charity pioneering blue health – the philosophy that time spent around natural blue spaces like the sea has a positive impact on people's mental and emotional wellbeing.

Using a mix of sea-based activities and evidence-based therapies, Sea Sanctuary support children, adults, and organisations, helping manage trauma and support peoples' everyday mental and emotional wellbeing.

The morning drizzle did not stop the crowd and the afternoon sun saw lots of smiles. A 6' Memory Anchor was displayed in keeping with Sea Sanctuary's logo, inviting those to bring a flower to place in memory of a loved one.

Penryn and Falmouth Funeral Directors are delighted to announce the total raised is £1,063.28.

A cheque was presented to Claire Watt, Communications Lead at Sea Sanctuary, who said:

"Funds raised will really make a difference in helping us support the Cornish community. We would like to thank everyone for their time and generosity."
