Falmouth Primary earns 'good' rating in latest Ofsted report
Falmouth Primary Academy are celebrating after winning praise from a recent Oftsed inspection.
The report published earlier this month judged the school on Jubilee Road as "good". Inspectors highlighted the quality of education, safeguarding, behaviour and personal development commenting that "pupils learn through an ambitious curriculum".
"The sky's the limit for all pupils," a comment on the report reads.
The report acknowledges the high priority that the school puts on reading, "pupils love to read, they follow a carefully designed reading curriculum. children learn to read as soon as they start in the early years," the report says.
They also gave particular praise to how the school raises pupils' self-esteem and confidence through many extracurricular opportunities, such as music and surfing lessons.
"Pupils say that they learn through engaging topics and that teachers make learning come alive," inspectors said.
The report recognises the dedicated team of staff and how well they adapted to the unique circumstances posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Headteacher, Claire Smith, commented:
"We are delighted that inspectors recognised the rich and varied curriculum we offer at Falmouth Primary Academy and have lots of exciting opportunities on the horizon as part of our 'learning through a voyage of discovery."
Kernow Learning CEO, Clare Crowle, added:
"We are extremely proud of Falmouth Primary Academy, the recent inspection has rightly highlighted the brilliance of the children, families, and staff across the whole school community."
