'Find it in Falmouth – FIIF' has been set up to encourage local residents of the Falmouth area to find and utilize local businesses to make purchases instead of shopping online.

Founded by Lucinda Parker Roberts, the page has quickly built up a following on Facebook. Lucinda told Nub News:

"The idea is that someone will post a product they wish to purchase onto the group, and then with the power of social media, anyone who knows where they might be able to find this can pass that information on.

"It will then be up to retailers as to whether they can price match, but the hope is that whether they can or not, it will at least bring publicity to shops that might not normally have it.

"With the High Street in a state of decline it's now up to the inhabitants of a location to make an effort if they want to keep small businesses going, and the initiative hopes to boost communication amongst individuals which can then lead to purchases.

"Although there are often challenges in making a trip to a town or city, for example, parking, or traffic, by stepping into a shop a one-off purchase might become something more spontaneous when the customer sees other items that they might not have considered before."
