A new Falmouth coffee shop has applied pavement licence to have outdoor seating.

Dark Pony Coffee, based on The Moor, opened its doors in May.

The application was discussed at a Falmouth Town Council licensing meeting last night (13th).

Cllr Steve Eva commented: "I popped in to see how the boys were getting on. The place is extremely clean, and well looked after, they're running a good coffee place. If you go across the road there are loads of tables and chairs on a thinner pavement. I see absolutely no reason why they can't have a couple of chairs out there. As long as they don't start stretching out further, just be sensible with the placement."

He added: "You've got people sat drinking outside at the burger bar (Boo Koos), Palacio Lounge, you've got Seven Stars. At the end of the day, you have to adapt to the times. Especially since covid people would rather sit outside."

The committee voted to support the application which will now go to Cornwall Council.
