This week Devon and Cornwall police supported the Neighbourhood Policing week of Action, officers from neighbourhoods over Cornwall have been highlighting the work done to support local communities (more information in the link).

At the start of the Week Falmouth and Helston police visited lots of schools to meet young people, teachers, and parents in the community, they discussed the importance of online safety, behaviour in the local community, and the issues of young people and weapons.

PC Filkins and PC Newton met 60 students at Penryn School. PC Stevenson went to Falmouth School to meet staff and students, while PC Stevenson and PCSO Wood visited Falmouth Primary, King Charles School, St Marys, and St Francis."

PCSO Bill Wood and PCSO Cavin popped into the Dracaena Centre to meet people at a community event, the officers commented that it was great to see people being looked after and supported at these events with food available for just £3. The officers then had the chance to provide some crime prevention and safety advice.

Officers this week have also been carrying out licencing checks in our area, this has been to emphasis the Challenge 25 protocol, and have been happy to discuss any issues and answer any queries businesses may have.

PC Cummins and PC Stewart have worked with the Roads Policing team to address reports of anti-social behaviour by vehicles in Falmouth Town Centre and along the Falmouth Seafront.

This involved dealing with over 25 vehicles in just over 2 hours, during this time the officers arrested a driver on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

PC Cummins and PC Stewart also assisted a driver whilst out on patrol who accidentally got stuck on a wall at the edge of the car park at Swanpool Beach, Falmouth.
