Mylor Sailing School on cloud nine after double delight at national awards

Mylor Sailing & Powerboat School fought off competition from the likes of Alton Towers to win double at the Visit England Awards.
The 19 gold award winners were announced at an evening ceremony on 8th June hosted by Clare Balding at the Library of Birmingham.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners were selected from hundreds of tourism businesses across England including hotels, self-catering accommodation, B&Bs, glamping operators, attractions, restaurants, pubs, and museums.
The sailing school came out on top in the Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award and Experience of the Year. The other gold from Cornwall was Three Mile Beach Gwithian in New Tourism Business of the Year.
The Caravan and Motorhome Club was the headline sponsor of this year's awards, also sponsoring the 'Experience of the Year' category. Barclays sponsored the 'Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award' and Sykes Holiday Cottages the 'Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year' category. The Family Holiday Charity was the chosen charity for this year's awards event.
A spokesperson from Mylor Sailing & Powerboat School, commented: "We are so humbled and honoured to have been awarded double gold at the Visit England awards ceremony. This is in the categories Access and Inclusivity, beating Alton Towers Theme Park and Learning Experience of the Year. I am so proud of my wonderful team here. We are on cloud nine."
VisitEngland Advisory Board Chair Nick de Bois CBE added: "It is wonderful to see the awards event back in person, giving us the opportunity to come together, celebrate and congratulate the best-of-the-best across England's world-class tourism industry."
