Late on Bank Holiday Monday (3rd), local fire teams were tasked to a fire at a black of flats in Penryn.

Crews arrived to the scene at around 11:30pm and found smoke blowing from the building.

The fire was coming from a bedroom within the block of flats, two appliances from Falmouth and one from Tolvaddon responded.

"Two firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire," a Cornwall Fire and Rescue spokesperson added.
