The crowdfunder started by the Falmouth and Penryn Welcome Refugees group has come to an end and reached its target.

The crowdfunder is said to have raised £6,756 from 176 supporters in 55 days.

An email sent out to previous supporters of the crowdfunder and those who got involved, stated:

"We are now in a position to welcome a refugee family and we hope to have found a suitable home very soon.

"We've been so heartened by the support from Falmouth, Penryn and beyond and the funding we have now received will enable us to move forward with bringing a refugee family to Falmouth and Penryn.

"Some of the donations have come from those who are already members of Falmouth & Penryn Welcomes Refugee Families, and some of you have been very involved in the group.

"Thank you for your time and energy as well as for the money you have given".

Although the target has been reached, work is still needed to make sure the relocation is successful.

The group are still needing help from the community and there is a form that people can fill in to show their interest.

This form will also ensure that information and updates will be sent out regularly to you via email, you can find this form by pressing the button down below.

Nub News Falmouth would like to congratulate the great work F&PWR have done for this great cause.

It makes us extremely proud to be part of this generous and inclusive community.
