South West Water have said investigations are ongoing after reports of a waste leak into the sea at Swanpool Beach.

Responding to concerns of a nearby resident, South West Water revealed an inspector was onsite.

Yesterday evening, we reported that Falmouth residents voiced their concerns after brown waste was pictured running into the sea at Swanpool Beach.

Following up on those images, a spokesperson for South West Water said:

"The surface water lines would have been built by the developer (Linden Homes) and South West Water are not responsible for these lines as they are not our assets. This is still being investigated and we have an inspector on site investigating."

Cornwall Council has been approached for further comment.
