The Penwerris Community have suffered from noise and light pollution from The Quarry for 6 months since the site opened.
Residents and students living in and around the student accommodation development on Penwerris Lane are suffering from noise and light pollution 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
They have been raising these issues with the management company CRM, the Council, the University, as well as directly to the owner of the site.
The noise from the ventilation continues 24/7 and can be heard around the site, and inside houses even when the windows of the nearby houses are closed.
The original planning conditions for lighting was for low level, low light pollution, and in fact, it has bright LED lights, causing light pollution for the students and the surrounding neighbourhood.
Last week, members of the community received emails informing them that some work had been completed to fix the issues.
However, local residents have seen no change to either issue and have written again to the Council to express their concerns, as these plans have not yet been discharged.
The Penwerris Community are urging people living around the site to report how they are affected by these issues, so the community-wide extent of these issues is known.
They have been requesting a community meeting with CRM since The Quarry opened, however to date these requested have been denied.
If you are having issues email [email protected] (lighting), [email protected] (noise) and copy in local Councillor, Jayne Kirkham, who is aware of the issues ([email protected]).
