Investigation takes place after fire at Falmouth restaurant

An investigation takes place to find out the cause of a restaurant fire at Discovery Quay.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the investigation would be carried out today after a fire at The Ranch, Tidemill House.

The fire service was called out on Saturday afternoon (7th) after people reported smoke billowing out the top of the business.

Appliances from Falmouth and Truro attended before requesting support from Tolvaddon and St Just.

Ambulance and police were also on the scene. The ambulance treated a number of casualties suffering from smoke inhalation.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service added:

"Critical Control have taken a large volume of calls to a fire in a commercial premises in Falmouth.

"On arrival, firefighters from Falmouth found a fire in a kitchen and entered using breathing apparatus and hose reels. Further assistance was required and a 'make pumps 4 and aerial ladder platform' message arrived from Tolvaddon and Truro. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reels, and ladders to fight and extinguish the fire which spread into the neighbouring property. A fire investigation will take place on Sunday."
