This weekend, Falmouth community radio station Source FM will be hosting shows to celebrate International Women's Day on the 8th March.

Expect to hear a mix of music, spoken word, live phone interviews and live impressions from women at Benow Festival happening at the Falmouth Art Gallery.

Chiara Muzzi, Station Development Manager at Source FM, told Nub News:

"We are going to do a variety of things, myself and a few other people will be based at the station and we will have other people working from Falmouth Art Gallery because there is a lot going on there for International Women's Day. There will be people in the art gallery live to understand what they are doing and interview people live.

"There will be other shows going on as well, at 9:30 there will be someone doing some spoken word and we will host a drop-in session so anyone who is interested in presenting can pop in.

"Hopefully people will drop in and then we can get them to speak on the radio, to get a sense of what it's like to be on the radio.

"We want to work in a way that is non-threatening, sometimes people don't like the sound of their voice so just try it out and see if they like it."
