Falmouth from the air – a town surrounded by the sea and steeped in naval and maritime history.
This was the view last week from the back of a King Air Avenger aircraft of 750 Naval Air Squadron, out of RNAS Culdrose.
A spokesperson for the air station said:
"The instructors on 750 squadron are as busy as ever, teaching a new generation of Royal Navy helicopter observers and RAF rear crew in the basic flying skills of navigation, radar and airmanship.
"If they are successful on this tough course, they will go on to train on specific aircraft types.
"The students spend most of their time at 750 squadron in the classroom or windowless simulators back at the airfield, only taking to the air for live exercises across Devon and Cornwall. They are typically too busy to enjoy the view."
