How the redevelopment will look.

Plans to redevelop Hooked On The Rocks, Swanpool have been recommended for refusal.

The proposal consists of the redevelopment of the existing restaurant to create a new building compromising a restaurant and residential apartment.

The cube design was branded "dreadful" in the Falmouth Town Council planning meeting this week, and was recommended refused on the view of the design.

Some of the comments included:

"This is the third attempt to try and get something done at Hooked On The Rocks and they are missing another opportunity to make it look decent."

"We all believe that the building needs replacing but we have to have something that fits in, this is just totally out of place with the area."

Residents also reacted to the designs with one saying:

"I am horrified to see the proposed redevelopment plans for this restaurant.

"The current building is gerry built and is unsuitable for its position overlooking one of Falmouth's most beautiful and popular beaches.

"It should be replaced by a building that will complement this outstanding position."
