The kitchen team at The Greenbank Hotel has received a letter from a representative of The Queen.

Described as being "proud as punch" Executive Chef Nick Hodges held the letter from The Queen's representative Colonel Edward Bolitho OBE as the team was praised for their work in the Food4Heroes campaign.

Food4Heroes started after a viral video of NHS worker Dawn Bilborough who was unable to buy food in her local supermarket.

Chefs rallied together in Cornwall to make up healthy meals for staff after a long shift.

Volunteers included The Greenbank's Executive Chef Nick Hodges, Head Chef Bobby Southworth, Sous Chef Adam Brandreth, as well as Howard Sellers from Bango Kitchen and Arty Williams, ex-owner of The Cove.

A spokesperson for The Greenbank added:

"During the summer lockdown, our voluntary brigade of chefs were creating over 1000 freshly prepared meals for the NHS every week, including Falmouth Hospital, Helston Community Hospital, and local care homes."

Residents poured in with congratulations for the team, one comment read:

"Good job, congratulations to you all."

A second read:

"That's fabulous news, well deserved to my all-time favourite hotel and amazing team."

And a third read:

"Congratulations Nick, I enjoyed one of your lovely meals at work."
