Barclays have responded after the sudden closure of the banks Falmouth branch on Killigrew Street.

Customers were left confused this morning after they went to do their banking but found the branch closed.

A notice on the door cited health and safety as the reasons, with an employee saying it should be back open later in the week.

Barclays spokesperson told Nub News:

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers regarding the temporary closure of the Falmouth branch.

"Unfortunately, this is due to health and safety reasons as the branch currently has no heating. An engineer is on their way and we hope to re-open as normal within the next 24 to 48 hours.

"In the meantime, customers can undertake everyday transactions at the Post Office including 13 Market Strand, Falmouth, and access to free to use local cash machines, including Lloyds and the Halifax.

"Please be assured we are doing everything we can to resolve the situation as quickly as possible for our customers."
