Two friends, two perspectives but the same roots, a creative synergy that has continued over 25 years.

See the Same Sky is an art exhibition put on by Vanessa Worrall and Vicki Gillow, with paintings celebrating a mutual love of the land, sea and skies.

Vanessa and Vicki met at Reading University, studying fine art. Meeting in Brighton, years later, found them living in the same city.

They then set up a studio together. In time, the pull of Vicki's native Cornwall meant they parted but both continued to paint.

This exhibition brings both artists back together again, Vanessa now based in Devon and Vicki in Cornwall.

"Two artists, two counties, watching, recording and seeing the same sky," they wrote.

Vicki said:

"I am a Cornish painter, based in Falmouth. My practice derives from a lifetime of looking and belonging. My Cornish heritage and love of the land and sea has informed a practice of landscape and coastal paintings."

Vanessa says:

"Working primarily in oil, I work on many pieces at a time and finished work will go through many processes building up layers of clouds or waves mixing forms, silhouettes and textures.

"My paintings are a celebration of our wild and wonderful flora found in the forgotten areas, verges and sidings."

This exhibition is open from Tuesday - Saturday between 10:00 and 17:00, and Sundays from 10:00 - 16:00, finishing on the 19th December.
