Earlier this month we shared the news that Eight Falmouth businesses were finalists in awards recognising local independents and now it's been announced that four of those were selected as winners.

The awards are run by Muddy Stilettos, a lifestyle guide, that allows people to nominate their favourite local businesses.

The awards are split into a number of categories with businesses nominated all across Cornwall, here are your Falmouth winners:

The Best Bar in Cornwall was voted as Kernowine the wine bar, shop, and school on Killigrew Street, on social media they said: "Thanks so much for all your votes! We did it!"

Cornwall's Best Florist was voted as Falmouth's very own local florist Vintage & Bloom, On social media they said: "The votes are in and we are so excited to announce we have WON Best Florist in Cornwall in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2023.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone that took the time to vote for us! We love our work and it makes us very happy to see that our efforts as a small business have been recognised.

"As we look forward to the year ahead of us, with lots of exciting projects planned, we hope that we can continue to grow and evolve alongside all the lovely local businesses that help make what we do possible."

The Best Day Spa in Cornwall was voted as St Michaels Resort the already award-winning hotel and spa, with ocean views.

The Mulberry Falmouth was chosen as Cornwall's Best Restaurant, tucked away down an alleyway on Falmouth's high street is a relaxed dining experience with a seasonal menu that uses top Cornish produce.

The organisers have said that each Regional winner will also be considered for the first-ever National Muddy Awards to find the 'best of the best' across all 28 Muddy counties.

After announcing the winners, Muddy Stilettos said: "Well that was FUN! The cocktail glasses were overflowing as the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2023 romped to a close last week. Cue an astonishing 77,000 businesses nominated and 800,000 votes cast in 2023. I know, bonkers!

"We have always proudly run the Muddy Awards on the basis of being free for all businesses to take part, and on our 10th anniversary, it's still as exciting as ever to shine a light on brilliant businesses."
