At the weekend Falmouth Mayor, Councillor Steve Eva, laid the first poppy at the new Memorial Garden in Kimberley Park to mark the start of this year Acts of Remembrance.

On Saturday, a small service was led by Canon Bill Stuart-White and the Last Post was played by Bill Bishop.

The service was attended by a small number of invited guests and was delivered in line with current government guidelines.

The town's Annual Service of Remembrance will be held at the Kimberley Park War Memorial on Sunday 8th November at 11am.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be no parade this year and the number of invited guests will be limited to 30 in line with the current government guidelines.

If any members of the public attend the park to observe the Service they are requested to observe social distancing and the current government guidelines of not gathering in groups of more than six.

Should any organisations who are not part of the Civic party or members of the public wish to lay a wreath they will have the opportunity to do so after the Service.
