First batch of vendors and musicians announced for Falmouth Food Festival
Between the 26th and 28th of May Falmouth will host its first-ever food festival, there will be a mix of music, food, drink, and crafts stalls set up in a lower section of the Church Street Car park for the whole town to enjoy.
You can read all about how the festival came together, in a conversation I had back in March, with Harry Mills who has organised the festival with his friend Barney Farnworth: The story behind Falmouth's first ever Food Festival.
As the festival gets ever closer Harry and Barney have started to release the first few food vendors and musicians. They have also included the full lineup for Friday.
Let's meet the flavours released so far:
The Chocolarder
Just a stone's throw away from the coast, right here in Falmouth, lies Chocolarder. Founded in 2012 by Mike Longman, Chocolarder is the only bean-to-bar chocolate maker in Cornwall and sources the best local ingredients from town whenever possible.

Dank Franks Food
Kebab enthusiast, Jack, has been gaining knowledge in the kitchen for the past 13 years, working with fresh ingredients and creating menus with talented chefs. He then set up the Cornish street food truck Dank Franks serving up serving Greek-style Pitta Wraps. The Gyros are served with fresh local produce and meats which are locally sourced in Cornwall and the West Country.

There will be more food vendors released closer to the date but the festival has also confirmed its Friday lineup which will include DJs, musicians, wine tasting, gin talks, and chef demos.
A huge part of the festival is promoting local people, including musicians like Friday headliner Robyn Alvarez, a Falmouth-based neo-soul band, performing their original sets across Cornwall. Robyn's smooth yet powerful vocals and honest lyricism accompanied by the seductive and laid-back instrumentation guarantee to get everyone's heads nodding and hips swaying.

Another act confirmed at this year's festival is The Beau Bennett Collective, a 4-piece alt-rock soul band from the Southwest. The collective are lighting up the music scene with an electric, genre-bending sound that makes nothing short of a thrilling live experience.

The final confirmed act is Brit school alumni Caitlin Pinkess, a singer-songwriter from southwest London. Her neo-soul-inspired music has soulful vocals and unapologetically honest lyrics that speak beyond her years, captivating her listeners. The band has been selling out venues in Falmouth and are making a name for themselves throughout all of Cornwall.
