Falmouth's authentic Italian ice cream shop, Ciuri Ciuri, has been open since the beginning of June and are determined to bring some normality back to the High Street.

Though they say they have admittedly not been very busy, they say this is a critical time for them and the rest of the world.

Mariangela and Fabrizio, partners in life and in the business, pride themselves on running what they say is the only place in Cornwall you can taste Italian gelato made by Italian hands.

Ciuri Ciuri offers their customers fresh homemade gelato, along with handmade cakes, Sicilian marzipan and real Italian espresso coffee.

Of course, things have changed to their usual running of the store since they reopened after closing for lockdown.

Fabrizio told Nub News: "We use masks and hand gel sanitizer is available for customers. We don't use gloves because we think that washing hands periodically throughout the day is safer, but people know that they can ask us to wear gloves if they feel more comfortable.

"Just one person at a time is allowed to come in, more if they are members of the same household and we put stickers and posters outside to inform people."

The couple is happy to be reopened and serving the community, and understand that things will be slow at the beginning as people ease out of lockdown.

"We feel people need a bit of normality. We see them happy when they see us open again," Fabrizio said.
