Falmouth restaurant Hooked on the Rocks, based at Swanpool Beach has been included in the Michelin Guide.

The official list of the UK restaurants recognised in the 2021 edition of the Michelin Guide have been announced.

Despite hospitality businesses enduring a torrid 12 months due to the covid pandemic, Hooked on the Rocks said this is great news amidst a "grim year."

Writing about the restaurant, the Michelin Guide describes Hooked on the Rocks as:

"The clue's in the name: it's all about seafood at this spacious bistro by Swanpool Beach. It's a pleasingly laid-back place with several terraces and great views.

"Much of the shellfish comes from the bay and crab and lobster are cooked to order. Don't miss the scallops with seaweed butter and hazelnuts."

Speaking on the exciting news was Head Chef, George Morgan, he told Falmouth Nub News:

"We actually couldn't believe that we are officially mentioned in the UK Michelin Guide 202.

"We know they visited earlier in the year and posted they had a good time. But, to be actually in the guide is amazing. 2020 was a really tough year as it was for everyone, but to come out the other side with this great news is a huge morale boost for everyone involved in the restaurant.

"It's all down to our incredible team who work extremely hard every day. The pressure will be on now more than ever, being in a guide alongside the country's best restaurants but we look forward to getting back open and doing what we do best."
