Bus passengers in Falmouth, Penryn and Cornwall wide are being advised to check before they travel as operators make changes to reflect the latest coronavirus guidance.

Cornwall Council has been working with local bus operators Go Cornwall Bus and First Kernow to revise timetables.

Just under 90% of the bus network will continue to operate for key workers and residents making essential journeys.

Councillor Geoff Brown, Cornwall Council cabinet portfolio holder for transport, said:

"The majority of services will continue to run as normal, and the changes affect just over 10% of our network.

"The guidance is clear – that we should stay at home unless we have to make an essential journey.

"Our bus network provides a lifeline for residents who do not have access to a car, and we want to ensure those who need to make journeys to buy food, access healthcare or have no other way of getting to work, can continue to do so.

"If you do have to use public transport, please follow the government guidance – plan your journey, wear a face covering (unless you are exempt), maintain social distancing and wash your hands as soon as you can after arriving at your destination."

GWR made changes to its rail timetable in Cornwall on Monday January 25th.

Passengers are advised to check their journeys before travelling – for more information visit GWR's website.
