You may all remember Toobs, the Falmouth dog who went missing overboard a boat not long ago, well that dog is now in a record-breaking challenge to swim the distance of 17.36nm (20 miles) across The English Channel to raise money and awareness for difficult-to-home rescue dog charities.

Way back in August, the owner of Jonah or 'toobs' put out an appeal after the border collie went missing from a boat.

Luckily she was found and now the "wonder dog" has set off on a huge task of swimming The English Channel.

On the teamtoobs website owner Wayne Booth said:

"Resting between swims aboard her floating home and support boat 'SV Stray', she will swim one or two legs each day until the distance across The English Channel is reached. It is likely to take well over a month to complete.

"The route measured begins at the end of Admiralty Pier, Dover, England and heads for Cap Gris-Nez, (Cape Grey Nose!) Pas-de-Calais, France.

"Let's see if we can make this record attempt as viral as when she jumped overboard."

In the latest update from the 15th November, the website reads:

"Despite the Gale Force 8 to Storm Force 10 winds and high seas, toobs STILL went out between squalls to complete today's leg."

See how toobs is getting on in the video above.
