Falmouth Week is one of the town's many major attractions, this year it will take place between Friday 4th - Sunday 13th of August.

The origins of the event started as a local sailing regatta dating back at least as far as 1837. To this day the sailing traditions continue with racing starting on the first Sunday in 'Falmouth Week' and finishing on the following Saturday.

Alongside the sailing, the event now offers lots of entertainment during the days and the evenings. Organisers behind the event have started to release some of the musical acts and activities that will be taking place across Falmouth.

Back in March, it was announced the Falmouth Marine Band Walking Carnival Parade would take place on Saturday 5th August to kick the celebrations off.

Last week it was revealed that Ian Broudie and The Lightning Seeds will be the first band performing at Falmouth Week. The gig will take place on Monday the 7th in The Waterfront Church Street car park and tickets are on sale already: Lightning Seeds Tickets.

Organisers of the event also confirmed that the evening after on Tuesday the 8th they would be hosting a Falmouth Rocks night with both ACDC and Guns N' Roses tribute bands. Tickets for this event are also now on sale: Falmouth Rocks Night.
