Falmouth University has revealed the return date for students to campus is to be late January.

This is to limit the spread of the virus and to minimise the movement of people, as announced by the government this week.

Releasing the latest guidance for students, "only a very small number of students should currently be allowed to return to campus," the university said.

They continued:

"No Falmouth University students are permitted to return to campus until January 25th at the earliest.

"We hope that will be able to begin teaching for Study Block 2 in a blended way as planned on 25th January, but you should wait for this to be confirmed before arranging your travel.

"All face-to-face enhancement activity planned for January including the physical events as part of the Workshops Festival has, unfortunately, been cancelled."

The university has urged students not to return back to Falmouth until the Government has permitted travel.

For those already on campus

We recognise that some students may already be in term time accommodation on campus or in Falmouth/Penryn, either because you remained over the holidays, or because you have already travelled back.

Please be assured that Covid safe study spaces will remain open and facilities such as the Glasney Lodge and Penryn Campus shop will also be available to support you.

For international students

International students should delay planned travel, if possible. If you have already begun your journey, or are unable to change plans, you should ensure that you are aware of the travel restrictions that are applicable to you. FCO travel advice can be found here.

All international arrivals are required to complete a passenger locator form on arrival in the UK, and passengers travelling from a country not on theexemption (travel corridor)list will need to self-isolate in their accommodation for 10 days.

Taking a test on return to university

You should get a test before accessing campus facilities when you return to university.

The Government has made clear that it expects all students to be tested on arrival and to minimise social contact until a negative test result has been confirmed.

It means you can be confident that you do not have Covid-19 and will not pass it on to any of your friends, housemates, academic team or our local community.

If you do not book a test, you should self-isolate for 10 days after your arrival back at university.
